I. Introduction:
The PCB PRO-BOARD demo disks come with the following files:
* Demo: This is a full feature PRO-NET with the following
limitations:
** no print, pen plot and photo plot operations.
** The maximum number of component, trace, via, library
and so on are limited.
* Proboard.feature: Description of PRO-BOARD commands and features.
* Autopcb: This is a Auto_Run program which will show you all the key
features of PRO-BOARD. This program will sequence through
three major steps:
** Basic: Autopcb will walk through all major features
without taking any actions.
** Intermediate: Autopcb will show some basic operations
such as device placement, call out library parts,
rotate device, etc.
** Advance: Finally, Autopcb will show a full feature
operation with such actions as route traces
according to guide lines, auto layer flipping when
a via is added, fully automated layer selection
and so on.
This is not a simulated demonstration. We actually
recorded all the actions a design engineer did
while he was designing a PCB. This included mistakes
he made and detected by PRO-BOARD, also the
necessary steps he took in order to correct them.
* board : The data directory of the PRO-BOARD's databases.
* filib : Device foot print library.
* fiind : The directory of the foot print library.
* pcb.conf: Configuration record file.
* frull : The directory of PCB design rule.
* pndemo.net : The net list file used in this Demo PCB.
* demofi : Demo PCB data file.
To ensure the operation of the demo program, you should not directly
modify and/or rearrange any of these files.
II. Running the demo program:
** Note: The Autopcb has to be in drive DF0: in order to run properly.
This restriction, of course, does not apply to the real one or
the Demo program.
A. Autopcb:
* In Workbench environment:
. Boot up with the Workbench disk.
. Insert Proboard.Demo disk into drive DF0:
. Double click on the disk icon.
. Double click on the Autopcb icon.
While Autopcb is running, you can:
. Hit space bar to freeze the demo program. Hit space bar again
to continue.
. Hit ^C key to exit Autopcb. This will bring you back to the
Workbench screen.
* In CLI environment:
. Open the CLI window.
. With the Proboard.Demo disk in drive DF0:, type df0:Autopcb.
The space bar and the ^C keys also work in this mode.
B. Demo:
The Demo gives you full control of all the operations including
save and post-processing with some limitations mentioned above. The
Demo program can be started the same ways as described above.
WARNING:
This program should be run on a copy, not the original disk. Since
Demo allows you to modify schematic files, it may
interfere with the Autopcb program; which runs on a prerecorded
sequence and, therefore, expects data in a certain ways.
